Shane Ballard is a Costume Designer and Illustrator for stage and screen. Costume design credits include: Innovative Works, Beyond The Mint- Charlotte Ballet, Hair- Berkshire Theater Group, An Octoroon- Rutgers Theater Company, Madame Infamy - The NY Musical Theater Festival, One Day- 3LD Art and Technology Center, Oliver The Musical- El Museo del Barrio.
His credits in the world of dance include costume design for Jerome Robbins Award winning choreographer, Stefanie Batten-Bland’s, Both/And for Gibney Dance Company as well as her recent works, Look Who’s Coming To Dinner and Embarqued. He’s also had several collaborations with the dance company, Brotherhood Dance.
He served as a Costume Concept Artist for Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, Aretha Franklin biopic Respect, Oscar nominated film Harriet, NBC’s Emmy Award winning production of The Wiz Live, HBO’s The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks starring Oprah Winfrey, Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud and the forthcoming new drama The Gilded Age by the creators of Downton Abbey.
Ballard currently teaches Costume Design and Illustration at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School Of The Arts. Ballard is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
